WELCOME RECEPTION

We have arranged a private train tour through the Historical Centre of Porto especially for our Summer School participants.
Embark on this trip on Monday, 29^th June, starting at 17:30 at the Summer School venue (Atmosfera M, Rua Júlio Dinis, nº158/160, 5^th floor, 4050-012 Porto) and join us on a visit to one of the famous Port Wine Cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, where Oporto's famous Port Wine age.

 

 

We will visit the Cellars and taste some of the Port Wines of Real Companhia Velha, the oldest and most emblematic wine company in Portugal, having celebrated this year 258 years of existence and uninterrupted activity in the service of Port Wine.
After the visit to the Port Wine Cellars, the train tour will pass through Cais de Gaia, where we will appreciate the Vila Nova de Gaia wharf and other numerous wine cellars. We will then cross the Douro River over the beautiful D. Luis bridge to discover Porto’s riverside area – Ribeira, Oporto's historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will also have the opportunity to appreciate the Lello Bookshop, several emblematic churches, and the magnificent Clérigos Bell Tower, and Porto’s City Hall, returning to the course venue (Atmosfera M) around 19:45.

DINNER

The summer school dinner will take place on Tuesday, 30th June, at 19:30 at Restaurante Homem do Leme.

We will have a delicious and entertaining dinner with Portuguese typical food while enjoying a beautiful sunset by the beach. Restaurante Homem do Leme is located in Avenida Montevideu, 88- Foz -Porto The dinner has a cost of 25€ and registration is mandatory.
